What is Pilates?

Pilates is a method of movement and exercise. Pilates aims to balance the body, allowing for efficiency and ease of movement. Using a combination of mat and equipment based exercises, Pilates at Astute will help you to achieve increased flexibility, core control, bone density, joint health, weight loss, muscle tone and improve posture. 

In our Astute classes your sessions can be targeted to focus on:

  • Specific flexibility or strength areas

  • Specific lifestyle demands eg. for work, sport, baby-tasks, lifting and carrying, etc

  • Rehabilitating an injury or prevention (in liaison with both our Astute and other health professionals where necessary)
